Wet Underfloor heating
Wet UFH systems are more energy efficient than radiator systems with significant savings with condensing boiler and Heat Pumps. Please have a look at the different floor types below please see below the different types of pipe we use.
Polyethylene of Raised Temperature Resistance (PE-RT) is a resin that builds on the traditional properties of polyethylene combined with the latest technology (constrained geometry catalyst, solution process and ethyleneoctene copolymer) to add extra performance characteristics such as enhanced strength at high temperatures.
The family of PE-RT resins has a proven track record of more than 25 years for delivering outstanding performance in pipe applications. Over a million kilometres of pipes have been produced using PE-RT resins and throughout Europe this type of pipe is used for 30% of all underfloor heating installations.
The pipe complies with DIN 4726, which specifies that oxygen diffusion through a non-permeable pipe may not exceed 0.1g/m3d.
The pipe is manufactured in Europe to ISO9000 standards and accordingly is covered by a manufacturers 50 year guarantee.
PEX AL PEX consists of several multi-layer polyethylene pipes, which can be used for plumbing or heating installations. The PEX-AL-PEX pipes are suitable for temperatures up to 95 °C and pressures up to 10 bars.
PEX-AL-PEX pipe is a PEX pipe with an aluminum layer sandwiched between an inner and outer layer of PEX with the metal layer as an oxygen barrier and also helps keep the pipe in its shape and is good for suspended floor systems were spreader plates are not used.
The cross-linked pipes under go a process in which unions between the polyethylene chains are made, providing high resistance to heat and pressure. That is why cross-linked polyethylene is specially suitable for installation through which water at high pressure and high temperature circulates.
Electric Underfloor heating
This type of system is cheaper to install and has a smaller installation buildup due to its is very thin when installed. The running cost of this type of system is very high so we only recommend it for small area such as bathrooms.
